White Rabbit Stained Glass: A Study in Societal Change

This small, white stained-glass rabbit, distinguished by its soft pink ear, is a deeply thoughtful piece of handcrafted art. More than just a charming symbol of spring and Easter, it is the unique second part of a design series with an exclusive backstory.

A Rare Design Series

This is the second, light-toned stained glass artwork created from this unique rabbit design. Its twin—a brown rabbit piece representing the first half of the story—has already been sold. This makes the White Stained Glass Rabbit a rare opportunity to acquire the final piece from this exclusive two-part design series.

From Wild Hare to Modern Companion

The design embodies my lifelong wish to see a snowshoe hare in the wild. Beyond that personal longing, this rabbit subtly speaks to a profound societal shift: the transition from seeing rabbits in farm life—as both pets and sustenance—to their modern role as "cute," domesticated companions.

The rabbit design subtly speaks to a profound societal shift in how we view animals. I first witnessed this change first-hand when I was eleven: a neighbour's child received a small white rabbit for their birthday. This was a concept my father and grandparents struggled to understand at the time, as they viewed rabbits through the practical realities of traditional farm life.

This piece embodies that transition—from animals valued traditionally to the modern perception of rabbits as "cute," selectively bred companions. It reflects the continuous transformation of Western society's relationship with the animal kingdom and invites reflection on those childhood memories.

The glass art is made out of 27 glass pieces.

No.: 4

The glass artwork comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity".

Pictures will give you an impression of colour and structure, but it will never look like the original art. Each glass is different in colour and structure which isn´t possible to capture in a picture. Glass in kind is always different to a picture. Coloration and reflections are dependent on many factors like time of the day, lighting conditions and so on.
